One hundred Waterloo residents received free vouchers for the area’s newest grocery store on behalf of Molina Healthcare.
In 2022, Mayor Quentin Hart joined mayors across the U.S. in launching the Mayors Alliance to End Childhood Hunger. He also attended the voucher giveaway.
“No one should go hungry in Waterloo, yet systemic poverty in the Walnut neighborhood puts residents at an unnecessary risk for malnutrition,” Hart said in the release. “I commend Molina Healthcare of Iowa for valuing this community and making its well-being a priority.”
