“As the 6^th largest city in Alabama, Hoover is considered to be a suburb filled with well to do folks. We certainly have those. But many are surprised to learn 33% of our school children are on free and reduced lunches. That means many are trying their best to concentrate on schoolwork while their stomachs rumble with hunger pains. Or, they may go home at night to refrigerators that are nearly bare. I am committed to the Mayors Alliance’s efforts to end child hunger because I KNOW we can and will make a difference! No child should ever face being hungry in our great country. “
