“Ending child hunger is fundamental to building a thriving community, and there is simply no excuse not to do everything we can. It reflects the most essential purpose of our work, which is to care for the most vulnerable among us. The prevalence of child hunger came to the fore during the pandemic, and it has not gone away. At the City of Albuquerque, we provide hot, nutritious meals to kids when they are not in school and are grateful to have expanded this service each year. We continue to tackle the challenges of growing food costs and lack of equitable access to fresh, nutritious foods. Through the Mayors Alliance to End Child Hunger, we come together to share what works and drive leaders to never let up on this critical issue.”
